Hi, we’re Imogen and Tom - first-time homeowners, novice renovators and owners of @thelittlehouseinlondon. Welcome to our little home! Here on the blog, we share a deep dive into our home renovation - our DIY attempts, the projects we’re undertaking, and our top tips and hacks to make the most of a small home.
Our home - the Little House in London
We moved into our first home, a dated two-up, two-down Victorian terrace in early 2020, just 6 weeks before the first lockdown. Since then, we’ve been renovating it room by room, attempting to do lots of the work ourselves to save on costs, but also hiring professionals where needed! So far, we’ve restored the front of the house back to it’s former traditional glory; we’ve added a loft conversion giving us an extra bedroom with ensuite shower room; we’ve moved the bathroom from the ground floor to the first floor, as well as renovating the bedrooms on the first floor; and we’ve turned the once entirely open plan ground floor into a separate living room, with a kitchen diner at the back of the house. At every opportunity we’ve had to be resourceful and creative to make the most of our small home and turn it into a beautiful but functional space for us as a family.
